Gandhinagar (Gujarat), May 21, 2025 (ANI): Speaking on lion population estimation, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) (IFS), Jaipal Singh said that they started the counting of lions from March and made a lot of preparation for it.Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Wildlife. Jaypal Singh says, "We started counting the lions in March and made a lot of preparations for it and then from May 10 to May 13, the entire staff and many volunteers, as well as the people of the village, participated in the counting...The estimated population of Asiatic lions in Gujarat has increased to 891, which is 32.19 per cent more than the last count..."
